New Bike Seat!

Some of you out there may know about my chronic vulvar difficulties. I've blogged about this before at l*mburger. Essentially, for about the last three years, I've had yearly recurrences of an abscess in my bartholin's gland (one of the secreting glands in the vulva, located to either side of the vaginal opening.) When an abscess occurs there, the area becomes inflamed and swollen, and it's pretty much the most painful thing I've ever experienced. It's excruciating to sit or walk, let alone to do anything more, shall we say "involved," with that part of the body (and you know how involved I like my vulva to be! ;) Anyway, if you'd like more information about bartholin's cysts/abscesses, I highly recommend The Bartholin Gland Site.

So the above photo is from Spongy Wonder.Com, the makers of my fantastic new bike seat! I've been riding it for about two months now, and I'm pleased to report that it's very comfortable, and saves me from that irksome tingling feeling that comes from the cutting off of the circulation in my twat. At first, the seat took some getting used to because it puts my body into a slightly different position on the bike, with just a touch more pressure on my arms and legs. But so far, so good. I'm able to go on longer rides now because I'm comfortable for longer periods of time, and I will keep you posted about the grody infections. Hopefully they're gone for good.
